History:

The Department of Higher Mathematics (1944-49) was part of the Faculty of Agricultural Mechanization. 1948 the department was included in the Faculty of Land Management (in Riga, E.Veidenbauma street 4a). 1957 in autumn, the faculties of Hydromelioration and Land Management moved to the premises of the former Teachers' Institute (the building was built in 1900) in Jelgava, Gagarina (now Svētes) street 18. 1967. the Department of Economic Mathematical Methods and Computing Techniques was separated from the department. 1983 30. The XI Department of Higher Mathematics together with the faculty moved to the new building on Pushkina Prospect (now Akademiyas Street) 19. 1992. 1. Department X was included in the Institute of Informatics and since 1994 is located in the main building of LBTU - Jelgava Palace. Starting from 2001, the department is part of the structural units of the Faculty of Information Technology.
