Professor Irina Arkhipova - Jelgava City Council award "Badge of Honor" for significant work at the Latvian University of Agriculture (awarded in 2008).

History:

The original name was the Department of Economic Mathematical Methods and Computing Techniques (1967-70), which was part of the Faculty of Agronomy, but later the Faculty of Agricultural Economics. Later it became the Department of Economic Cybernetics (1970-90), and finally the Department of Informatics (1990-2002), which was part of the Institute of Informatics. The Departments of Control Systems and Computer Systems were established in 2002, dividing the Department of Informatics.
